You have to be careful in how you cook it, though, to keep that slimy texture away. (Sunday I had my first of the season.) <br /><br />I'll eat fresh, local asparagus night after night. <br /><br />The beets in our Maine garden are already showing their greens. We'll pluck some babies this summer for grilling or salads, leave the rest for roasting in the fall.<br /><br />Where is the love for kale's rainbow cousin, chard?
