  1. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
I’m not good at checking in on social media sites, but I do have all three of these . . . Facebook gets the most use because of First Chapter Fun . . . .

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennyson?
Tough choice . . . Jane Marple. It’s difficult to not choose Agatha Christie!

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
I like reading in order, but I have been known to start in the middle of a newly-discovered series and then backtrack to get all the others that came before . . . .

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Oh, I can’t pick one over the other . . . Jean and I adored STAR TREK the first time around . . . and it hasn’t lost its appeal.
But STAR WARS is really good, too . . . .

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
    Mounds . . . it’s the dark chocolate one!

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
    Newsletters . . . it’s always fun to catch up . . . .

    7. Email or text or phone call?
    Email or text . . . I’ve never been a talk-on-the-phone person . . . .

    8. Lark or night owl?
Night owl [couldn’t you tell???] :)

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?
One episode at a time unless I am, for some reason, behind. Then it’s binge binge binge to catch up . . . .

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?
    No, thank you . . . if I’m going to have a pet, I want a traditional one . . . dogs and cats are fine, ferrets not so much . . . .

  2. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
    >>Ahh.. I guess Facebook. It seems more fun. Not sure about the deal with Insta, what's the point? Although I'm diligently on it, @hankpryan. ANd Twitter? Sure, but...we shall see.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
Depends. I guess..Prime Suspect. But I would never turn down Agatha Christie.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
    >>I absolutely don't care. It's all about the story to me..and I can find out character stuff later.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
    >>Welp, none of the above? Equally...missable. But I did ADORE the first Star Wars. Life changing.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
    Either one, happily. oxxo

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
Love newsletters for authors. I devour and deconstruct them.

    7. Email or text or phone call?
Email. PLEASE do not call me.

    8. Lark or night owl?
SO night owl. Like Joan, as you can see.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?
I will binge and then regret. I am so eager to see the rest of the brilliant brilliant fabulous wonderful Magpie Murders! (You ARE watching that, right? GENIUS.)

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?
    What? Never.

  3. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?

All three. They all have their good and bad points.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?

Since I don't recognize Jane Tennison, I'll go with Miss Jane Marple.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?

As a kid, I read in any order, but as an adult, I pretty much stick to read in order, with a couple of exceptions. Like reading the fourth Key West Food Critic first since Lucy/Roberta sent me an ARC.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?

    Babylon 5.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?

Since I'm allergic to tree nuts, I'm going with Mounds

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?

Newsletters on a monthly basis or when you have something to tell me about. But don't flood me with newsletters unless I am a big fan.

    7. Email or text or phone call?

Yes. Again, they all have their pluses and minuses.

    8. Lark or night owl?

As in which am I? Which bird do I like? Since I'm typing this at 12:09 AM instead of going to bed, clearly I'm a night owl.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?

Two (drama) or three (sitcom) episodes is my limit. Is that binging? Or is that something in between? I picture binging as spending hours and hours watching a show, but maybe I'm a binger and don't realize it.

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?

    No. But thanks for asking.

  4. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Mostly FB, with my assistant posting graphics to Insta for me. Twitter I go on every morning and do some retweeting. I love the sharp commentary from some friends, but mostly I don't hang out there.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
    Both?

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
By preference in order, occasionally have stumbled into a series mid-stream (sometimes here!) and then I go back to the start and read straight through.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
    Neither. Blasphemy, I know.\
    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
    Mr. Goodbar!

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
    Newsletter.

    7. Email or text or phone call?
    All!

    8. Lark or night owl?
    Lark all the way.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?

  6. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Facebook and am uneasy about its time-sucking capacity.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
Miss Jane Marple... I rarely watch television so had to google Jane Tennison.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
In order. I enjoy reading unfolding character relationships.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Not much of a fantasy or space person but my husband and children adore Star Wars so I've had more exposure.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
Neither. A plain Hershey bar with a cup of coffee is perfect.

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
I enjoy newsletters unless they arrive daily, in which case I mark them as spam.

    7. Email or text or phone call?
Email. I neglect my phone and a text might not reach me for days.

    8. Lark or night owl?
I love the early morning hours before sunrise.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?
We come late to most television series, so depending on the length of an episode (30 min. to 60 min.), we watch 1-2 episodes per night. We thus will get through multiple seasons in a matter of weeks. Is that binging?

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?
In a long life shared with many, many animals in my house -- including a childhood with canaries, hamsters, mice, and gerbils, teenaged years working in wildlife rescue with squirrels, opossums, raccoons, skunks, baby birds and wounded birds of prey, and an adulthood with calves, lambs, and baby poultry of all sorts nursed in the kitchen, I have never desired to get closer to a ferret. :)

Prefer reading in order. If I find a series mid-way, I will go back later to read the earlier ones.
    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
STAR TREK all the way. Watched TOS (The Original Series) on rerun dozens of times from childhood. Now with the Second Golden Age of Star Trek with 5 new TV series, I am in heaven,

  10. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Facebook. It’s how I find out about events in my community and book events.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
Jane Tennison. Love it when females break into mostly male roles. Women can do anything!

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
I can read out of order as long as the author wrote it that way. Then I can read whatever book in the series is available.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Star Wars, especially the newer films!

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
Mounds! I am a huge coconut fan so mounts is perfect!

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
Love newsletters so I can see what an author or group is doing. Plus it’s always nice to hear directly from an author.

    7. Email or text or phone call?
Depends on the situation. Email if it’s something with a lot of info that I’ll need to remember. Text for a quick message and phone call if you need to decide on something now or just to have a nice talk.

    8. Lark or night owl?
Lark here! I work early so I need to wake up plus I grew up on a farm. You always had to be up early.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?
Binge watcher, especially if I find full seasons of a show I haven’t seen.

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?
Yes as long as it’s friendly and doesn’t bite. I think reading with a ferret would be cute.

5.Both Mounds and Almond Joy are good. Dark chocolate, please.
    6. Newsletters--Heather Cox Richardson and JRW every day, several from WaPo and NYT. So many newsletters, so little time.
    7. Email or text. If there's a misunderstanding, I will call because it's better to talk directly about it.
    8. Always a lark. I'm a connoisseur of sunrises.
    9. One episode at a time.
    10. We had a ferret when my son was 12. Actually he lived at my son's dad's house, but I spent a lot of time with him. So cute and playful but also smelly and impossible to potty train. Eventually a friend who visited from the east coast and had lots of experience with ferrets took him off to Pennsylvania. Never again.

  13. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above? - facebook, sort-of, once a day (with my morning coffee)
    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison? – Both – Marple was my first introduction to Agatha Christie and where I learned to love mysteries, and Tennison, because she is smart, dogged, and who doesn’t love Helen Mirren?
    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first? – Must read in order if they are a series. If the author is good, the side people, territory and events are as much a part of the story as the plot. It is like a visit with old friends.
    4. Star Trek or Star Wars? – Star Wars and only the first. On the 12 of Nov we will be married 45 years – only saw him 21 days before we were married, and day 8 was the new movie Star Wars – came down the aisle to the theme, wearing my version of Leia’s dress in the last scene. After the first movie, the franchise lost its surprise, and its plot (to my mind).
    5. Mounds or Almond Joy? – Neither – I think they are both coconut, but may be an American thing. Used to love Snack Bar – alas, no longer made. Diabetes doesn’t help.
    6. Newsletters or leave me alone? – Probably newsletters – then I can read if I wish, or delete if it is not suitable.
    7. Email or text or phone call? – Probably email. Have no cell phone so that makes text not a thing, and talking on the phone flusters me, as it doesn’t give me time to think.
    8. Lark or night owl? – neither. Middle of the day as long as there is light – hate winter.
    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time? – a binge is 2 max for us, even if there is only one more to finish it off. Brain tends to go into stunned with too much. A new show wakes it up again – besides one at a time prolongs the enjoyment.
    10. Would you ever want a ferret? – no but I would love another raccoon!

  14. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Facebook. I never did get the point of Twitter, and Instagram is annoying.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
Miss Marple when I was younger, but in my crotchety old age Jane Tennison and her in-your-faceness appeals more.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
Either, depending on availability, although I prefer to read in order.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Meh. I enjoyed the first couple Star Wars, but that's it.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
Mounds, because of dark chocolate! And GRACE, I had no idea they weren't available in Canada!

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
I prefer to read in order but, will grab one out of order on occasion.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
I really love the originals of both, but not all of the sequels to either. Star Trek TNG was my favorite of that series and the original 3 Star Wars movies were, as Hanks said above, "life changing."

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars? Honestly I've never seen either one. My friend wants to rectify this, although says just not having seen Star Wars is at least better than another friend who had seen it and doesn't like it.

    7. Email or text or phone call? Depends. Text is fine for a quick message ("do you have this?"). Some things that require a longer explanation or conversation works better with a phone call (like when my sister and I are discussing Christmas presents and plans.)

    8. Lark or night owl?
Night owl by nature, job means up early.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time? We don't have all the streaming stuff (cable is way cheaper here than separate fees for every channel) so I'm typically watching one at a time. I own a lot of DVDs though so then I'll watch a few at once.

    10. Would you ever want a ferret? YES! They're so cute. Wanted one for years.

  22. . Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Facebook and Instragram, for books, birding, quilting and beading info - Twitter, for now, but that may be getting deleted.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
    Jane Tennison!

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
I like to read from the beginning to see character development. I have noticed that some authors explain the back story of their characters ad nauseum in subsequent novels. Guess this would only bother someone like me!

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Very hard choice here. I'd have to go with Star Trek, the original series, as hokey as the special effects and some of the acting is now, it was a ground breaking series at the time.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy
Mounds. Is this even a question?

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
I like newsletters. There is a delete key when I want to be left alone.

    7. Email or text or phone call?
    Any of the above

    8. Lark or night owl?
    Lark!

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?

  23. 1. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or none of the above?
Definitely Facebook. My son signed me up years ago so we could share photos, and I've never
    looked back.
    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
I don't think I've ever read a Jane Tennison book, so I guess it would have to be Miss Marple.
    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
I've often read something other than the first, then gone back to start at the beginning if it's a
    great series.
    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
    Both.
    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?
Definitely Mounds--dark chocolate all the way. See's Candies makes a terrific Coconut
Special, which is similar (but better). But since the bag of Halloween candy I bought
has Almond Joy and not Mounds, I may make an exception.
    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?
    I enjoy author newsletters.
    7. Email or text or phone call?
I'm not very good at typing on my phone, so I prefer emails.
    8. Lark or night owl?
I'm typing this at 6:35 a.m. so I'd have to say lark. I typically go to bed at 11:00 p.m. but usually
after nodding off for a while over a book or TV show.
    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?
I like to draw out a good series, so it's one episode at a time. But during the pandemic I learned
to love binge watching as well--The Office, Schitt's Creek, The Good Place, and so on.
    10. Would you ever want a ferret?
Goodness, no! I'll stick with my tuxedo cat, Sasha.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first? Prefer to start with book 1 but not too picky.
    4. Star Trek or Star Wars? Total Trekker. Still waiting to be beamed up.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time? Binge. Still catching up on shows from the 2020's 10. Would you ever want a ferret? Dear heaven no! ... ummm unless there was an area that was lacking in ferrets as a predator. I would release and hope to restore some natural balance.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?

    JANE MARPLE.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?

I try to read the first book in the series. Sometimes a book out of order works well as a stand alone novel. It depends.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?

    BOTH ?

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?

What is the difference? I thought they were the same candy with different names. I would say both?

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?

    LOVE Newsetters.

    7. Email or text or phone call?

Starting to learn how to use FaceTime. Emails are great, though I am old-fashioned and love receiving letters in the mail. Texts are great for arranging to meet a friend.

    8. Lark or night owl?

Usually, I get up early in the mornings. Sometimes I sleep in late. Most of the people in my family are night owls.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?

Again, this depends. If it is something I love, then I am a binge watche. Unfortunately, I fall asleep and miss many episodes that way. Sometimes I am one episode at a time or half an episode if the tv programme does not grab my attention.

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?

Depends on the story/series and the length of each episode; there’s a mystery series that was recommended but just can’t start because each episode is a mini-movie at 90 minutes!! But no matter which I’m not going to watch 6 hours straight of anything.

That's my only connection to Twitter. I rarely visit Twitter. I have personal and blog Instagram accounts, but I haven't used them for ages.

    2. Jane Marple or Jane Tennison?
    Jane Marple for me!

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?
My preference is to read a series from the first book on. I used to be adamantly committed to this way of reading. However, I have become less a stickler in this matter. If I do read a later book in a series first, I always hope to go back and pick up the series in order, but I will allow myself a breakdown in order.

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?
Hmm. Both or neither. Star Trek might have an edge because of its early crew with William Shatner and and Leonard Nimoy and Nichelle Nichols and George Takei and DeForest Kelley and James Doohan and Gene Roddenberry

    - Miss Marple for sure.

    3. Read a series out of order or must read the first one first?

    - If possible, I prefer to read a series in order. I love series a lot!

    4. Star Trek or Star Wars?

    - Meh. I haven’t seen more than the first 3 Star Wars movies and I’m not that interested in Star Trek but Captain Pickard is rather hunky.

    5. Mounds or Almond Joy?

    - I don’t eat candy but I always liked Almond Joy better. Unless there was a Butterfingers or Payday on offer.

    6. Newsletters or leave me alone?

    - Newsletters are great!

    7. Email or text or phone call?

    - Email. I’m becoming more comfortable with texting though.

    8. Lark or night owl?

    - Definitely a morning person.

    9. Binge watcher or one-episode at a time?

    - One episode at a time as long as it’s one a day. I can’t sit and watch something all day but I’ll watch one a day.

    10. Would you ever want a ferret?

    - Nope! 🤣
